MERLIN
Shepherd mix, 2 yrs, 80 lbs
Are you looking for a big, handsome and sweet as can be boy? Well then you found me. My name is Merlin and I am a big boy who is looking for that perfect home. I enjoy walks and playing, I get along great with other dogs and all the peoples - although I am quite big and heavy so perhaps a home with older children might be best cos I don't want to knock or squish a little one! I also am partial to a treat or two and I try to keep my slobber to a minimum! Find out about me asap, big boys like me don't last long!
*All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

MR. BANKS
Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, 2 yrs, 50 lbs
Mr. Banks was found in an elementary school field being chased by kids - now don't feel bad for him, he LOVED it. He is a HUGE fan of kids and was so happy to be running around with them - a home with kids would be great for him. He is a very sweet boy who is house trained and crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs and loves being active with his family. He does need a secure yard or to be watched outside as he loves to jump and play and if he has no one with him.... well he may have to go find someone to play with. He is very smart and walks lovely on leash too. Don't let this one slip away!

JACK
Plott Hound mix, 2 yrs, 72 lbs
Hi, my name is Jack and I am a super, duper sweet boy looking for my forever home. I am a big fan of the hoomans and other doggos and I would be happy to have a doggo friend, or not, so long as you are active and want to help me be busy. I am a big boy at 72 lbs so probably best I don't go to a home with the really littles, I might knock one over, or even sit on one! I would prefer not to accidentally squish one! I would love to have a home to go to in the New Year and that's what I am hoping for most in the world.

RILEY
Wire Haired Terrier mix, 9 months, 40 lbs
Hi there, I'm Riley and I am Rosie's brother. I am a sweet boy who is good with the peoples of all sizes and with other dogs when I get the chance for a proper introduction. I don't have any experience with those cat things, but being a Terrier mix, I might not be the best fit. I can be a little shy at first but I warm up quickly and then you and I will be fast friends. My sister and I were pulled from the streets and so she is a little needy of her "big" brother so if you would love double the fun we would really like to stay together.

ROSIE
Wire Haired Terrier mix, 9 months, 40 lbs
Hi, I'm Rosie and I see you have already read about my brother Riley. I am a sweet girl who loves everyone, although neither my brother nor I have any cat experience. I am a bit shy and I do love to have my "big" brother around so would love to go to a home with him if at all possible. Just think - double the love and fun! I am sure he said that we came from the streets so there are lots of new skills we are still learning but both of us are super sweet and are so excited to find this thing they call a "home".

MIRACLE aka HOT WHEELS
Lab mix, 2 yrs, 28 lbs
Hot Wheels SEEKS HIS FOREVER FAMILY who is committed to giving him nothing but happy days for the rest of his life. For a low adoption fee, you can bring home this $15,000 family member. A video of “Wheels” was shared showing him dragging his back end. The Right to Live Rescue took him into rescue. He was covered in fleas and had severe dragging wounds. He had back surgery with a 50/50 chance of success. Then, he had one of his broken back legs reset and plated. He started hydrotherapy and seemed to be doing well. Sadly, he developed a flesh-eating bacteria on his back legs causing one to be removed. He stayed at the Vet’s office for about 5-6 weeks while they worked to clear him of the infection and open another gaping wound in his remaining and plated rear leg. He has no idea he is different than the other dogs. He loves to go on walks in his wheelchair. He does zoomies around the yard and chases the others and even plays tug-of-war with a 112 pound lab/pittie/mutt foster brother. He loves to have his ears rubbed since he cannot scratch them himself. He loves to scoot through his splash pad on hot days and wade in his inflatable pool. He turns in circles like a top when he gets excited which is when he is getting fed or sees you come home. He can pee and poop on his own but he sometimes does that in his sleep or when he’s excited. He dribbles a bit. He has diapers and belly bands but they sometimes slide off because he does not have both legs. He is willing to travel with his wheelchair, his diapers, his belly bands, his toys, his elevated feeding stand and slow feed bowl (that does not really slow him down). Despite everything he’s been through, he is the happiest boy in the world. He would love to sit on a dog bed and chew a nylabone and watch to make sure you are looking at him. He has passed cats on the porch or street and not reacted to them. He may need a short introduction to any new fur siblings. He seems to know who he can pick on and who he needs to defer to. He will come with this cute gingerbread costume just in time for Christmas.

BONNIE
Lab mix, 12 months, 60 lbs
From Bonnies Foster: She is an 11-12 month old, FIXED, black lab mix (not sure of the mix) and she is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She thinks she's a lap dog, even though she's around 60 pounds . Every morning when I leave for work, she follows my car, running and jumping and just having a good time. When I get home from work, she runs out to meet me and is waiting outside of my car door in pure joy. When I step out, she sits down and leans against my legs, like her very own version of a hug. She loves running around and playing fetch, and is even starting to learn how to catch a frisbee! She absolutely adores running around with my other dogs and is so funny and playful. As she is still a pup, she needs a forever home that has someone that can dedicate time to her training and someone who is able to put in the time and dedication to her that she so truly deserves. Please help me find sweet Bonnie a forever home.

KODA
Lab mix, 3yrs, 45 lbs
Hi, I’m Koda and I’m looking for my special furever family. I’m a 3 year old lab mix, around 45lbs. My foster mama thinks that I’m very sweet, shy, and loving. I love being with my four legged friends – either dogs of all sizes or cats! That’s right, you can call me your little love bug and I will follow you around for love pats and belly scratches. I even have a trick – yup I’m a magician - throw a dog biscuit near me it will disappear! I’m smart too – I know some commands like "House" to go to Mandalay's kennel to eat, my name and I even come when I’m called! Ok well, mostly I come LOL. I’m still working on the leash bit – I get a bit too excited and a whole bunch anxious so … sometimes I forget all my manners. It probably is better that I go to a family that has older kids (and a little calmer) and I would love to have some four legged friends to play with. Well, that’s me … do you have room for a little love bug in your family?

BRYAN
Shepherd mix, 75lbs
Bryan is a great dog who loves to be around people. He interacted very well with a 12 year old child. Bryan does well with certain dogs. It is important to slowly introduce him to other dogs on neutral ground. For example, dogs should be introduced slowly at a park or at a Petsmart to give them the best opportunity to get along. Bryan is a medium to high energetic dog. It is important for him to get exercise. It would be beneficial if he had a yard to exercise and run in. Bryan would like to be chased; however, it is best for his owner not to chase him. This good boy rides well in a vehicle.

ELLIE
Shepherd mix, 2 yrs, 45 lbs
Ellie is a 2 year old female Shepherd mix with a reddish and gold coloration. She is a shy girl that takes some time to get to know people. Ellie tends to feel more comfortable with women. Once she gets to know people, she demonstrates her love and you can tell which person is her favorite. As time passes, Ellie becomes more comfortable around strangers. Ellie has a calm personality. She is potty and crate trained and walks well on a leash. Ellie likes some, but not all dogs. It would probably be best if she were in an only dog household.

LOKI
Lab x Shar Pei, 1 year, 50 lbs
Hi, I’m Loki. I am a one year old, cream colored Lab/Shar Pei mix, around 50 lbs. I prefer hanging with adults, so I’d be a better fit in a house without little kids. I’m a bit of a leaner … okay maybe I’m a huge leaner but I love to cuddle when you pat me.
I like playing with other pups, and I really like the ladies (wink, wink). I have medium energy, so it would be great if my new family has a yard. I’m working on my manners, house and crate training. My foster mom thinks I’m really smart. I already know how to walk on a leash and LOVE car rides.
Are you looking for that very special boy to join your family? I’m right here and can’t wait to meet you.

SCOTTIE
Lab Mix, 3 yrs, 60 lbs
Hi! My name is Scottie, but I am not a Scottie dog, I am not short with long wavy black hair, I am tall with straight blonde hair. So perhaps a better name for me would be Labbie? But I am used to Scottie as a name so we can stick with it. Plus you can make some really cool spin-offs, such as Scottster, Scottie Biscotti, Scottie Spaghetti MeatBall Yoyo, or whatever, be creative. I am an energetic neutered male, 3 year old, Labrador Retriever, with beach blonde hair and the althletic build to make any gidget fall head over heels. I am strong, so you will need a good leash holding arm for all those walks you will take me on. I can’t wait to get excited as I watch you put your tenny shoes on! I have had a couple of homes as I was once adopted from the city shelter and then abandoned on the streets to take cover from rain at a gas station and once again homeless and back to a foster home. Whew. I am looking for an active family with a gentle yet strong leader to help guide me through life and maybe teach me some leash manners and keep me as a permanent family member. I hope to learn more words from you, maybe heel, stay, roll over. I will also teach you a word. Groke, a verb, an old Scots term meaning to look at somebuddy while they’re eating in the hope that they’ll give you some of their food. Which brings me to my next point. As any true and classic Labrador Retriever I adore both toys and treats. But if I had to choose between the two, which do you think I would pick? Yep. FOOD! Please ask my Foster Mom for more details about me.

COOPER
Retriever mix, 10 years YOUNG
Hey y'all! My name is Cooper and I am such a handsome boy. I am 10 years old, a neutered male, and have long golden red hair from head to toes! I'm looking for an extremely kind and patient owner to adopt me. My foster mom said I have to be honest with y'all, so here goes: I am beautiful and have a heart of gold! But, I can also be a grumpy old man after going through trauma and abandonment. I will probably take a while to trust you. I can growl when I don't like something, it't just my way of letting you know I might be scared. I prefer you pet me on one side of my head at a time, two hands can scare me! I also like to see your hands so you don't surprise me with sudden movements. I am a good boy. I don't tear things up. I don't go potty inside. I listen really well and I like to sleep a lot. I don't like to be alone. If you crate me please keep me near you especially at night or I will get scared and cry a lot. I want to get along with other dogs but it can be really hard for me. I have 2 docile foster brothers who are kind and patient with me. I really wish I could get along with everyone but like I said, it's hard, so I would do best as an only pet. I love people, and I just want someone to understand my trauma and my fears. I get super excited when the boy comes home from school. It took a while for me to trust him, too. I would love to find my furever home! Please only reach out if you are certain about me because I'm not great at trust and transitions and your home would need to be my last home.

POPPY
Pug mix, 8 months, 7.8lbs
Look at how darn cute I am! I am a sweet little girl who is looking for her forever home. I am only 8 months so I have lots of time to get used to whatever family I get adopted to. I have been spayed already though so that is not something you need to worry about. Please keep in mind I am very small right now so if you have rambunctious kids that's great but just make sure they play gentle with me, same goes of big dogs too. Or even big cats, cos some of them are bigger than me! Make my Christmas dream come true.
